SO I SPENT my Sunday afternoon wandering about IKEA looking for fabrics when I came across a panel showcasing products to keep the home safe.

PATRULL Anti-slip strip $4.90/5m roll

These anti-slip strips can be placed onto the tips of staircases, or kerbs in bathrooms. The top has a textured grainy surface and a sticky backing. Packing these into my home-visit bag! Very useful as simple home modifications to minimise risk of tripping/falling/slipping for clients with low-vision.

PATTRULL Bathtub mat $9.90

These rubber mats are a cheaper version of the ones sold at Rehab marts, but I’m not too sure if they are just as “anti-slip”. IKEA recommends that the mat be hung up to dry after each use, to keep them clean and fresh longer.

PATRULL Corner bumper $5.90/8pcs

Great for placing on sharp corners of tables and cabinets, to reduce the risk of getting hurt. Not only is it child-proof, but I think the same safety concept applies for clients with low vision or the elderly who furniture-walks.
