OUR HONEYMOON TRIP to Cape Town and Johannesburg was an absolute dream come true!

After all the year’s worth of wedding planning, we wanted to go fuss-free for our holidays. So we signed up for a package with Chan Brothers Singapore at SGD3366/pax. Considering the hotel standards, the food, itinerary and a return flight with Singapore Airlines, it was quite a tasty deal. Needless to say I was abit skeptical at first but it all turned out well! Check it out here.

Weather in South Africa is unpredictable, Danial and I were quite underprepared. One moment it’s sunny hot, the next you’re drenched from a heavy thunderstorm. Despite the weather, I was very pleased to see animals on our Safari drives. The giraffes especially! Did not manage to catch the leopard in plain sight (you must be really lucky), but we did glimpse 4 out of the Big 5 – elephants, rhinoceros, buffalo and lion (lion cubs at a distance). Oh, what a splendid trip!

My recommendations for food and accommodation choices:
Bertus Basson at Spice Route (Cape Town) https://bertusbasson.com
Visited February 2017, for lunch
Food was amazing – especially the delicious apple pie! The place offered a bristo-like ambience with options for alfresco on the lawn too, though we opted for indoor seating. I throughly enjoyed the view of the greenery and mountains beyond! -My TripAdvisor review (NaniSG)
Pepper Club Hotel https://www.pepperclub.co.za
CNR Loop and Pepper Street, Cape Town
Visited February 2017, stayed in a double room
Rooms were very comfortable and had a large bathroom. Best to stay on higher floors where it is quieter. Breakfast bar had a good variety. Loved that the hotel had a gym and a small lap pool. Spa must be booked early to avoid disappointment. Overall a great stay! -My TripAdvisor review (NaniSG)
Soho Hotel Sun City https://www.sun-city-south-africa.com/soho-hotel
Mabula Private Game Reserve 0840, South Africa
Visited February 2017, stayed in a superior luxury room
Room was generally comfortable, though decor and maintenance can be highly improved. Breakfast bar had a good variety but given the high volume of guests, best to come in before 10am. Within walking distance to SunCity’s other attractions. Highlight was the comedy club on Wednesdays at the ground floor pub opposite the casino. -My TripAdvisor review (NaniSG)
Mabula Game Lodge http://mabula.com
Mabula Private Game Reserve 0840, South Africa
Visited February 2017, stayed in a lodge room
Stayed for a night and went for 2 game drives. Managed to catch most animals except the leopard, in this private lodge. Safari staff were very friendly and passionate. Rooms comfortable and the main guest lodge has an amazing interior with its high ceiling – nice for a lounge with a book in the evenings before dinner. Overall, a good stay! -My TripAdvisor review (NaniSG)
